Started With a Toolbelt and a Pickup Truck
In 2011, Jason walked away from a steady paycheque at a large Kelowna electrical contractor. Not because the work was bad — but because he kept hearing the same thing from homeowners: "Nobody explains what they're doing. Nobody calls back when they say they will."
He figured he could do better. Chris came on to handle the business side, they pooled their savings for a used truck and a full set of meters, and Spark Electrical was born out of a spare bedroom and a whiteboard full of estimates.
The first year was all outlet replacements and tripped breakers — the calls nobody else wanted to take. But Jason showed up on time, explained everything in plain English, and left the job site cleaner than he found it. People noticed. They told their neighbours.
Thirteen years later, it's a team of 6, a fully equipped shop on Pandosy Street, and a reputation that still runs on the same fuel: do what you say you're going to do.

Our shop on Pandosy Street is stocked with wire, conduit, panels, breakers, and diagnostic equipment so most jobs get done in one trip. Every truck rolls out loaded with the parts homeowners need most — no "we'll have to come back tomorrow" excuses.

From Pickup Truck to Crew of 6
Every milestone was earned the hard way — one wired panel at a time.
One Truck, One Toolbelt
Jason left his position at a large electrical contractor, loaded up a used pickup, and started taking calls. Chris handled the estimates and scheduling from a spare bedroom.
Growing By Referral
Word of mouth did its thing. The team expanded to 2 trucks and hired the first apprentice. The spare bedroom got replaced by a real office.
EV & Smart Home Division
Invested in Level 2 charger certification and smart home wiring training, opening up a whole new side of the business as Kelowna went electric.
A Place to Call Home
Moved into our current shop on Pandosy Street. Finally had room for wire inventory, diagnostic equipment, and enough parking for the growing fleet.
2,500 Jobs Strong
Hit a milestone nobody was counting but everybody felt. Twenty-five hundred homes and businesses served, and most new calls still came from past customers.
6 Electricians Deep
The team grew to 6 licensed electricians. That first apprentice from 2014? He's now a senior lead running his own crew.
